Our Community Services programs exist to provide a safe place for those in the Ajax and Pickering communities to access emergency food and other assistance, receive a hot meal and engage in the many programs and services offered by TSAHope at 35 Kings Cres in Ajax.

Food Bank & Seasonal Assistance

We offer the following services based on income and situation to residents of Ajax, Pickering and Uxbridge: food bank, Christmas food and toy assistance, and referrals to our Client Advocacy program and other services in the Durham Region.

Client Advocacy

Need help with a referral for medical, legal and/or housing services? We can help to refer you to local programs, assistance and events.

Kitchen Connections

Clients of Hope are invited to sign-up to learn valuable culinary lessons including recipes, proper cutlery usage and measuring skills. The program also includes a social aspect where we’ve played games and even provided karaoke time! Call to register: 905-427-7123.

FREE Community Meals

Each Wednesday we offer a nourishing meal for all who need it within the Ajax and Pickering communities, between 12pm – 1pm.

Café Church

A new exciting and interactive faith-based program coming soon.

Hope on Wheels

Our mobile Hope On Wheels vehicle is available to meet people’s needs right where they are. For more information, please call us at 905-427-7123.

Lockers Program

In cooperation with the Town of Ajax, we provide administration and oversight to 12 lockers that are available for people who have not secured permanent housing to store their valuables including: personal belongings such as important papers, receive mail and charge their cell phone.

The lockers are located on Ajax Town property across from our new building on King’s Crescent.

We have received funding in part from the Ajax Mayor’s Gala as well as other avenues such as our annual Christmas Kettles Campaign.

Colouring Group

We gather on Thursday mornings at 10am for a time of relaxing colouring. Supplies are provided or you’re welcome to bring your own. A great group for de-stressing and caring for your mental health.

Community Food Drives

Our food drives offer a great team-building option seasonally and year-round for schools, clubs, groups, businesses, agencies, sports teams and families in Ajax, Pickering and Uxbridge.

Pastoral & Spiritual Care

Life can be complicated. Sometimes it helps to have someone to talk to. Confidential prayer and spiritual guidance based on Biblical principles is offered by appointment with Pastors Jason or Tammy Sabourin by calling 905-427-7123.

Volunteer Opportunites

We rely on hundreds of volunteers annually to help us continue giving HOPE to friends in need in our community.  To volunteer Monday through Thursday at any of our community services programs please call 905-427-7123 to discuss our needs and your availability.  We welcome students 16+ years of age, as well.

Donations

Monetary donations can be made online or by mail addressed to: 35 Kings Crescent Ajax ON. Please make your cheque payable to “The Salvation Army Ajax Pickering or Uxbridge.” We appreciation your generosity and kind support.

Perishable, non-perishable and monetary donations can be made at our offices at 35 Kings Cres in Ajax during 10am – 3pm Monday through Thursday. Non-perishable food can also be donated at one of our many donation bins locations listed below. For large quantities of donations, please call 905-427-7123 to arrange pick-up.
